Goal of the Pollux B workshop

Researchers and engineers will gather at the Paris Observatory on February 7-8, 2023, to discuss the Pollux-B instrument for NASA's Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO, formerly known as LUVOIR-B/LuvEx) flagship mission. In particular, the Pollux-B workshop will allow us to consider the design changes required for the selected HWO telescope with respect to the Pollux instrument originally designed for LUVOIR-A. Scientific and technical trade-offs will be discussed. In addition, the European organization of the Pollux consortium and the planning of activities for the coming years will be discussed. A large fraction of the time will be devoted to discussions. All members of the Pollux team, as well as any other researchers or engineers interested in Pollux-B, are welcome to attend the workshop.

Registration is free but mandatory. The meeting will be held in the Cassini room of the Perrault building at the Paris Observatory in Paris, France. Entrance is on 77 avenue Denfert-Rochereau, 75014 Paris.
